THE EXPERIMENTAL STUDIES OF THERAPEUTIC EFFECTS OF HEXACHLOROPHENE ON CLONORCHLASIS SINENSIS

Abstract
Rabbits were used for experimental animal.
Each group was composed of 5 rabbits. Each rabbit was infected by 500 of metacercaria of the clonorchis sinensis. After 1,4,7, 40-60 days of infection Hexachlorophene was given orally with various doses and on various days.
The adult worms of liver fluke in the liver of infected rabbits were calculated for estimation of therapeutic effect of Hexachlorophene.
The results of experiment were as follows:
1. The liver fluke which were infected for 40-60 days were almost negative by treatment with Henachlorophene in dose of 20 m9./k9. bodyweight/day in 4-6 days in contrast with untreated control which had liverf luke.
2. 14-15 liver flukes were found after 30 days oftreatment with Hexachlorophene in dose of 5-10mg./kg. body weight/day.
3. The best result was obtained with Hexachlorophene when compared with the effect of gentianviolet 10 mg./kg, dithiazanine iodide 10 mg./kg.,chloroquine 50 mg./kg., fuadin 10 mg./kg. ofbody weight/day, in 6 days of administration respeftively.
4. Hexachlorophene was more effective after 45days of infection than early infection (1,4,7 day)on experimental clonorchiasis.
